The Project
The Scottish Prison Service faced the challenge of outdated and inefficient lighting systems across multiple facilities, leading to increased energy costs and potential safety concerns. To address these issues, they sought the expertise of EGG Lighting for to implement a comprehensive LED lighting upgrades and refurbishments for several years.

The Solution
EGG Lighting has worked closely with the Scottish Prison Service to implement full turnkey lighting solutions across several locations, including HMP Barlinnie, HMP Low Moss , and HMP Perth. The projects involved the replacement of over 10,000 lamps so far, as well as upgrades to lighting galleries, cells, offices, stairwells, and association spaces. To maximise energy savings, presence detection and dimming controls were installed where appropriate. EGG provided a combination of retrofit lamps and full fitting replacements, and completed comprehensive lighting designs for each location.
