EGG Lighting is a trading name of Treegreen Limited, a company registered in Scotland (SC333763), with its registered office at EGG Lighting, Challenge House, 29 Canal Street, G4 0AD, Glasgow.

We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of our business, including business contacts we identify from public sources.

• Contact and enquiry forms — name, email, phone number, company name, and any message content you provide when you get in touch or book an audit.
• Lighting Decision Index (LDI) tool — estate size, fitting types, and related inputs you provide when using our luminaire assessment tool, along with the contact details needed to send you results.
• Website usage data — collected automatically via cookies and analytics, including pages visited, time on site, and general location. See our Cookie Policy for details.
• CRM records — if you become a client or supplier, we hold contact and communication history in our customer relationship management system.
• Business contacts from public sources — where we identify people at organisations we could help, for example estates, facilities or compliance staff at housing associations, councils and other public bodies, we may hold their name, job title, organisation, work email address and work phone number. We take these only from sources the organisation publishes itself, such as committee papers, board minutes, published staff pages and public contract notices. We record where each detail came from, and will tell you if you ask.

We do not collect special category data (e.g. health, ethnicity), and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

We use your data to:

• Respond to enquiries and provide quotes or audits
• Deliver LDI tool results and follow-up recommendations
• Manage the client or supplier relationship
• Contact people at organisations about services relevant to their role, such as emergency lighting testing, electrical testing and lighting surveys
• Send relevant updates, where you've agreed to receive them
• Improve our website and services
• Meet legal and regulatory obligations

• Contract — where processing is necessary to provide a quote, audit, or service you've requested.
• Legitimate interests — for general business communications, website improvement, and occasional relevant business-to-business emails to people at organisations about services connected to their role. Our interest is in making our services known to organisations that may need them; we keep these emails infrequent, relevant to the recipient's role, and easy to opt out of.
• Consent — for marketing to individuals and sole traders, for newsletters and updates you have signed up to, and for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation — where we're required to keep records (e.g. for tax or compliance purposes).

We use a small number of trusted third-party tools to run our business and website, including:

• Lovable — website hosting/build platform and our CRM system
• Microsoft 365 — email, calendar and document storage
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI assistant used to help research and draft business correspondence
• Buffer — social media scheduling
• Google Analytics
• Resend email platform

We only share the data these providers need to perform their function, and we have appropriate agreements in place with each. We do not sell your data.

Where any third-party provider processes data outside the UK/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision).

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, and in line with our legal and accounting obligations.

• Enquiry data that doesn't convert to a client relationship is typically deleted after 24 months.
• Business contacts identified from public sources who have not replied to us are deleted 12 months after our last contact.
• If you ask us not to contact you, we keep a minimal record (your name, email address and organisation) solely to make sure we don't contact you again.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you, including where we obtained it
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Object to direct marketing at any time — if you do, we will stop straight away, with no questions asked
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data
