Accessibility statement

EGG Lighting is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We want everyone to be able to find out about our services, request an audit, and get in touch — regardless of the device or assistive technology they use.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This is the standard referenced by UK accessibility regulations and by most public sector procurement.

As a private company we are not subject to the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, but we treat WCAG 2.1 AA as our baseline and we comply with our obligations under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled users.

• Use semantic HTML — headings, landmarks, lists and buttons — so screen readers can navigate the site predictably.
• Provide meaningful alternative text for informative images and mark decorative images so they are skipped by assistive technology.
• Design for keyboard navigation, including a "Skip to main content" link and a visible focus indicator on interactive elements.
• Choose colour combinations from our design system that aim to meet WCAG AA contrast for body text and interactive controls.
• Build layouts that reflow on mobile, tablet and desktop, and respect the user's browser text-size and zoom settings.
• Label form fields, icon-only buttons and navigation regions so their purpose is announced.

We test the site regularly, but we know accessibility is never "finished". Areas we are actively working on include:

• Reviewing colour contrast on lower-emphasis text and on tinted backgrounds where our brand palette sits close to the WCAG AA threshold.
• Reviewing embedded third-party content (for example, maps, analytics or social widgets) which may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA and which we do not control directly.
• Continuing to add descriptive alternative text to case-study and product imagery as we refresh it.

This statement was prepared on 06 July 2026. It is based on our own review of the site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, including manual keyboard testing and review of headings, landmarks, image alternatives and colour contrast. It has not been independently audited by a third party.
