East Kirk Court
Greenock, UK – Lighting Remanufacture
The Project
Management at Trust Housing’s East Kirk Court sought to address outdated lighting, and the resulting inefficiency. They wanted a solution that improved resident safety, sustainability credentials, and the development’s aesthetics.
The Solution
Our work began with upgrading from central battery emergency systems to self-contained emergency luminaires, enhancing safety and removing unsightly emergency bulkheads. We then remanufactured old bulkheads to BS 8887-220 standards, reusing 1.1kg of material per luminaire, equivalent to 23.3kgCO2e, for sustainability. Our solution includes a wired-DALI system with dimmer switches for adaptable lighting and our latest Designed for Remanufacture panels. Featuring low glare optics and smooth dimming PIR sensors, our solution ensures comfort, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Additionally, our commitment to circular economy facilities management includes a buyback scheme for reusable parts, ensuring ongoing benefits for the owner.
